How To Get to Raja Ampat

Sorong has access to Raja Ampat either by flight to Dominic Osok Airport or by boat to Sorong Port. Sorong is one of the most established region in West Papua. There are several connecting flights to Sorong from the main airports in Indonesia, such as Jakarta and Bali with stopover either in Makassar or Manado. Some travellers, who visit Maluku Island, can have connecting flight to Sorong as well.

Inonesian flights route to Sorong:

  2. Jakarta - Makasar - Sorong
  3. Jakarta - Denpasar (Bali) - Manado - Sorong
  4. Jakarta - Denpasar (Bali) - Makasar - Sorong

International flight connections are available from Singapore or Malaysia to connect to Jakarta or Bali airport in Indonesia.

Most of our Raja Ampat tourguide package guests arrive in Sorong the day before heading off to Raja Ampat, stay over night in one of those accommodations at the guests's choices. We pick them up from the hotel to the boat early in the morning the next day.

Travellers who want to go to Raja Ampat on their own way can take a daily ferry from Sorong to Waisai, the capital of Raja Ampat Regency, for around 2 - 3 hours journey or simply charter a speadboat from Sorong at the guests's convenience.

The good news is that there will be a new airport opened in Waisai to cut the time short to reach Raja Ampat.
